John Mulder, M.D. is a leader in the field of palliative care. Improving the quality of life for his patients has always been a matter of service to Dr. Mulder and his career reflects that. As a nationally recognized authority on end-of-life issues and pain management, Dr. Mulder has become a sought-after speaker on the topics. He began his engagement in hospice, end of life care, and palliative medicine in 1984. He was certified as a hospice and palliative medicine specialist by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2000. He previously has taught at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College, and currently teaches at Michigan State University of Human Medicine. He is also the director of the Grand Rapids Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
