Grief is a normal emotional process associated with loss. Despite the pain, it is essential for adjusting to the next chapter of life. Facing it well can result in wisdom and healing, enabling relationships to move forward and yielding new insights for living well.
Grieving well is integral with living well and dying well. Anticipating grief honestly and openly can reduce the risks and challenges of life’s transitions, and provide opportunities to complete relationships in loving ways. After the loss, grief allows us to find a “new normal,” learning to live without our loved one, but to move forward enriched by their presence in our lives.
